Representing Clemson at Atlantic Coast Conference Championships in Atlanta, Georogia, Lakeisha “Mimi” Warner was sixth in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 59.51 seconds.
Warner, the only freshmen in the final, recorded a season’s best of 58.36 seconds to advance.
Tarika “Tinkerbell” Moses advanced to the California Jr. Colleges State finals in two events. She was second in the 400m in 55.14 seconds behind Grenada teammate Meleni Rodney’s 55.04 seconds.
Moses finished third in the 200m in 24.34 seconds in the event Rodney won a 23.25 seconds. After being disqualified in the 4 x100m Relay, the duo combined, with Moses on the second leg and Rodney on anchor to win the 4x400m Relay in 3 minutes 47.41 seconds.
At the St. Martin International Invitational on Saturday, veteran sprinter Tahesia Harrigan-Scott sliced her 100m season’s best from 11.63 seconds to 11.57 seconds and finished fifth. Ashley Kelly placed second in section two of the 200m in 23.84 seconds, after running 54.75 seconds and finishing fourth in the 400m.
The top performers making the BVI’s NACAC Age Group Championships team were the following with the highest points total in each division:
11-12 Girls: Akeela McMaster, Fast Lane Track Club, 2599 points and Anaya Findlay, Raw Skillz Track Club, 2402. 11-12 Boys: Delano Hodge, Top Notch, 2495 and Kishsawn Martin, Sprint Tech, 2422. 13-14 Girls: Ariyah Smith, Sprint Tech, 3296 and Azariah Christopher, Sprint Tech, 2968. 13-14 Boys: Maliaki Smith, Top Notch, 4684 and Jaleel Croal, Sprint Tech, 4421.
