Premier Dr. the Hon. D. Orlando Smith indicated that the tendering process to facilitate the repairs of the West End Police Station will begin in December this year.
The BVI Leader made that announcement during the November 10 sitting of the House of Assembly, in response to Opposition Member and First District Representative, Hon. Andrew Fahie’s questions about repair plans announced: “The estimated cost to rectify the infrastructural problems at the West End Police Station is $165,380. The problem with the West End Police Station will be rectified as soon as it is possible for us to do so. This is an important matter, and we expect to tender for this project by early December 2014.”
In fact, Hon. Smith noted that Government has no plans to permanently close the West End Police Station, and that efforts have been made by the RVIPF to ensure that the temporary closure does not generate any adverse effects to the West End area.
