Two Robberies Reported Over The Holidays

Monday, December 29 – Police are investigating two reported robberies, one in Sea Cows Bay early Saturday morning and the other at a bar in Josiah Bay last night.

A male resident of Sea Cows Bay reported that he was walking home from a nearby bar when he was approached from behind by a masked male near Cill’s Hardware. The perpetrator then placed what seemed like a handgun at the back of the victim’s head, took his gold chain and cash, and ran off toward the Ellis Thomas Downs Racetrack.

In the second incident, two masked males both with firearms entered Tiger’s Bar in Josiah Bay after 10pm Sunday evening. One male pointed his firearm at a female worker and demanded money while the other pointed his handgun at another worker and a customer in the restaurant at the time.

After receiving proceeds from the bar, both individuals fled the premises in a vehicle in the direction of Andy’s Car Wash.

No injuries were sustained in either incident.

While the perpetrator’s description was not given in the first incident, in the second incident one of the men is described as about six feet or more in height, slim built, dressed in all dark clothing with what appeared to be a rifle in his hand. The second male appeared about five feet in height, stocky, similarly dressed in dark clothing with what appeared to be a small black handgun.
