Two Charged For Illegal Firearm Possession


Thursday, December 10 – The female and one of the males arrested on suspicion yesterday as a result of investigations into Monday night’s homicide were charged with illegal firearm possession and appeared before the Magistrate’s Court this afternoon.

The second male arrested on suspicion has been released pending further investigations.

Shaniqua Evelyn, 29, and Danny Pemberton, 34, both of Sea Cows Bay, were charged with unlawful possession of explosives and keeping a firearm without a licence. Evelyn was granted bail in the amount of $50,000 while Pemberton was placed on remand. Other charges may be pending.

On Monday evening, David James, 28, was fatally wounded while in his apartment. He was found by family members who transported him to Peebles Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives continue to solicit information from the public as inquiries into the homicide are ongoing. Any information received will be treated in the strictest confidence.
