Several spirit filled performances graced the stage at the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium for the 13th annual celebrations in remembrance of the Territory’s first Chief Minister, the late Hamilton Lavity Stoutt. In an event titled, “A Musical Tribute to a Giant of Ideas” several local performers paid tribute to the visionary leader in either word or song. They included Nicole Donovan, Ouida, Trinity, Kenzie Baltimore, Ca’Sandra, Janice Stoutt, Andria Norman-Flax and Reuben Chinnery. Memoirs of experiences shared with the Territory’s first chief Minister were also told by the Premier of the Virgin Islands Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE, Minister for Education and Culture Honourable Myron V. Walwyn and Leader of the Opposition Honourable Ralph T. O’Neal, OBE. The celebration was held on the anniversary of the birthday of the Territory’s first leader, which is celebrated annually on the first Monday in March.
