When all the talking was done, Desert Storm had nothing to say in the Hon. Julian Fraser Save The Seed Basketball League on Sunday night.

Talk Done overcame a 12 points halftime deficit then held Desert Storm scoreless over the final 1:25 for an eight point 75-67.

“We had a rough start with a good bit of turnovers because we weren’t taking our time passing the ball,” noted Talk Done’s Coach Marshall Thomas.

Talk Done trailed 44-32 at half time then used a 34-16 third quarter run to pull within 60-56 at the end of the period. They tied the game at 60-60 with 7:47 left in the fourth quarter then went ahead 61-60 when Bodean Samuel—who finished with 17 points to go with 8 rebounds and four assists—converted one of two free throws and never relinquished the lead en route to the victory.

Kevon Lettsome followed up with 14 points. He also had five rebounds and four assists for Talk Done who improved to 2-1.

Tarique Wattley and J’Kwon Frett had 19 points respectively for Desert Storm who evened their record at 2-2.

“Even though we were behind I was still confident that we would have won the game because I saw some strengths where we had down in the bottom,” Thomas explained. “I tried to keep my guys in the game, play man on man defense to put pressure because we were behind and catch back up and we took our time and did just that.”

Desert Storm’s coach Kareem Thomas declined to comment on his team’s second half meltdown.
