Semi-Automatic Weapon/Ammunition Uncovered In Search


Monday, June 2 – Police charged two men following the execution of the search warrant that resulted in the seizure of a semi-automatic weapon and several rounds of ammunition.

On Friday evening, officers of the Special Investigations Unit search the home of Kevin Moorehead of Fat Hogs Bay where a .22 caliber semi- automatic rifle and a box containing 23 (9mm) bullets were found in the bedroom. The items were confiscated.

During the search Kennyson Daniel, a native of St. Lucia, found on the premises, was arrested on an immigration offence.

Moorehead was formally charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of explosives, smuggling and one count of harbouring a person. Daniel was charged with illegal entry since he could show no evidence that he entered the Territory legally.

Investigations are ongoing.
