Tuesday, March 18 – Two early morning police operations has resulted in the seizure of two prohibited firearms and 189 rounds of ammunition, and ten cannabis plantations.
The RVIPF Special Investigation Unit, Task Force and Criminal Investigations Unit today executed a search warrant on a home in the Valley where a Tech-9 and an AK 47 was found concealed in the walls of the home. Police confiscated both weapons along with 189 rounds of live ammunition.
Two persons, a husband and wife, were detained and are being questioned in relation to the seizure.
In a separate operation, Police uncovered ten cannabis plantations in the vicinity of Gorda Peak where over 2,000 plants ranging from one to four feet in height were uprooted and confiscated and along with a number of pieces of cultivation equipment.
Police continue investigations into this matter.
