Hon. Alvin Christopher, the Chairman of the People’s Empowerment Party (PEP) announced that at the right time his Party will announce the names of its 13 candidates that will be contesting the upcoming general elections.
The statement was made on 23 February during the PEP radio program in response to a caller’s question about who will be representing the Party in the upcoming elections.
In response, the Party Chairman said: “The People’s Empowerment Party is intending to field 13 candidates to fill thirteen positions, and we intend in a timely manner to reveal the names of the candidates contesting on our ticket.”
Hon. Christopher explained that he is aware that the public wants to know who the candidates are, and stated that the presentation will be done in due time: “I know a lot of people in the public have asked when are we going to do it, but I think everything takes time. You make plans and you work towards your program, and we believe that we are in the right train, on the right track, at the right time. We will let the people know who our candidates are and in what District they are contesting,” he said.
The People’s Empowerment Party was launched on March 29, 2014 at a well attended event that was held at the Maria’s by the Sea hotel. The Party’s Executive includes: Hon. Alvin Christopher, as Chairman; Natalio Wheatley aka Sowande Uhuru as President; Elford Parsons, as Vice President; Claudette Rymer, as Secretary; Julia Christopher as Assistant Secretary; Dennis Rhymer as Treasurer; Lorie Rymer, as Public Relations Officer; Sunny Prince, as Sergeant-at -Arms; and Glanville Penn as Chaplain.
