A number of persons took to Facebook to express condolences to the family of Dian Liburd, the Ministry of Finance staff member that passed away this week.
Premier and Minister for Finance Dr. the Hon. D. Orlando Smith was one of the persons who expressed sympathy following the news of Mrs. Liburd’s passing.
The BVI Leader announced: “It is with a sense of great loss that we accept Dian’s passing. Dian was an integral part of the Ministry of Finance for over 10 years.
Dian was an extremely organized and dependable person, and was very committed to the BVI and the work of the Ministry.”
Hon. Smith described the former Private Secretary as a woman of strong faith and belief in the good of others. “Her kind spirit and pleasant personality was felt throughout the office. Dian served not only as Private Secretary to the PS but also somewhat as the Office Mom to most of the Junior staff” he said.
“Our hearts are saddened. Dian, you left us a lot sooner than we anticipated, but I am sure I speak for not only the Ministry, but the entire BVI when I say, you will be missed;” Hon. Smith said before extending condolences to Pastor Liburd, and the other members of the family.
