Man Charged With Theft Is Wanted In St. Vincent

Tuesday, February 2 – A man caught with a stolen cellular phone is now on remand not only for the theft but for landing in the territory without leave from immigration and giving police false information.

He is also wanted in St. Vincent for a series of burglaries.

Kareem Nathaniel Abbott, 18, appeared before the Magistrate over a week ago and was remanded after he pleaded guilty to all charges. He claimed to have come to the Territory aboard a yacht which landed near Village Cay on Christmas Day. He also claimed that the yacht has since left the Territory.

The RVIPF made the necessary inquiries and found that Abbott is wanted by the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force in connection with a series of burglaries committed on that island.

Local authorities will be seeking his deportation.
