Dr. Migliavacca elected President of Italy & Colonies Study Circle


MIGLIAVACCA-GIORGIOBritish Virgin Islands Philatelic Society president Dr. Giorgio Migliavacca has been unanimously elected president of the United Kingdom-based Italy & Colonies Study Circle (ICSC).

The membership of ICSC is drawn from around the world, with the majority coming from the UK, Italy and the USA. UK members meet four times a year in London, and there is usually at least one overseas meeting each year, often linked to an international stamp show.

The Society publishes the gold medal winning quarterly journal called Fil-Italia, now in its 42nd year. It is the only significant source of information on Italian Philately and Postal History in the English language; the editor is Dr. Migliavacca.

Dr. Migliavacca is a renowned philatelist, journalist and author of hundreds of articles and numerous books for which he has won gold medals and many other awards. He is an Academician of the Italian Academy of Philately and Postal History, and the British Caribbean Philatelic Study Group recently presented him the Addiss Award for lifetime achievement in philatelic writing and research.
