Captain Charged With Two Counts Of Manslaugher


Wednesday, March 25 – The captain of the inflatable motor vessel Inevitable which ran on the rocks in late January near Cow Mouth was charged today.

Stephen Fossi 46, of New Zealand was charged with two counts of manslaughter and is to appear in Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.

In the incident, Kari Anne Way, 27, of Michigan, USA and Howard Anderson of Jamaica, both employees of Oil Nut Bay and residents at the resort were pronounced dead at the scene.

Fossi and three of the remaining passengers, all males, were taken to Peebles Hospital for treatment following a boating incident off the north side of Virgin Gorda.

Five employees of Oil Nut Bay Resort and one guest were returning to the resort early on the morning of Saturday, January 24 when the incident occurred.
