BVI Cruising Operations Continue Despite Pier Construction

ROAD-HARBOUR-JAN-2015Despite ongoing construction of the cruise pier, all resources assigned to cruising at the BVI Ports Authority (BVIPA) are fully operational. Since construction began last fall, the BVIPA has had to organise and facilitate the movement of cruise passengers through the temporary staging area on Wickham’s Cay. Ongoing construction means that cruise ships are anchoring in harbour, as seen in this photo, showing three ships in Road Harbour on Christmas Eve. As the season picks up, this should be a familiar scene to residents and visitors who will see at least two ships in harbour from time to time, and in some occasions, three.
