Althea Scatliffe is no longer unseating in the 5th annual BVI Primary Schools Basketball League.
With six players scoring at least four points, Virgin Gorda’s Bregado Flax ended Althea Scatliffe’s three games winning streak at the Multipurpose Sports Complex on Saturday.
Kahmani Caul had eight points to lead Bregado Flax who held Althea Scatliffe scoreless in the second quarter as they built a 20-2 lead at halftime. Mekhi Waters, Jahdique Winchester, Tyriece Carrasco and Shumoi Dore dropped in six points respectively.
Elroy Bollers scored 15 of Althea Scatliffe’s 18 points.
Led by Winchester’s game high 18 points, Bregado Flax returned later in the day to overpower Ivan Dawson 46-5, by holding them scoreless in the second and third quarters after only allowing a first quarter free throw. Dore had eight points.
Alexandrina Maduro only allowed Francis Lettsome to score in the second quarter, during a 40-3 victory—their first of two on the weekend. Alonzo Baptiste was the top scorer with 26 points.
Baptiste was among four players with four points during a 16-10 victory over Willard Wheatley, who they held scoreless in the fourth quarter. Kwabena Joseph finished with eight points for Willard Wheatley.
St. Georges remained undefeated following their 26-11 victory over Joyce Samuel. Kade Chalwell led St. Georges with 12 points while Jaheem Gumbs was Joyce Samuel’s top scorer with five points.
Enis Adams’ Malcolm Christopher and Kawa Williams combined for 26 points in pinning another loss on Joyce Samuel, this time 35-21. Gumbs finished with 16 points to lead Joyce Samuel.
Enis Adams secured another victory by holding Francis Lettsome scoreless in the first quarter as they raced to a 14-0 lead, during a 35-8 triumph. Christopher had a game high 13 points for Enis Adams and Keshawn Esprit added 10 to the tally.
Marik Pemberton led Francis Lettsome with six points.
