“Tell Mark we want Stone Haven fixed,” Mr. Nelson C. Hull aka ‘Joe Jack’ announced on Saturday 4 June during a radio program on ZBVI Radio. The comment was made towards Sixth District Representative, Hon. Alvera Maduro-Caines who was a guest on that program.
Mr. Hull, who is a Sixth District resident announced that the situation has been plaguing the area for a long time and needs to be remedied at this point: “We want that Stone Haven flooding situation fixed, because if you don’t fix it, she (Hon. Maduro-Caines) aint running again, all right.”
On many occasions Hon. Maduro-Caines announced plans to fix the problem; the most recent promise was made during the 4 February sitting of the House of Assembly
Prior to that promise the Sixth District Representative declared her intention to fix the issue moments after she was declared the winner in the 2015 general elections.
The area of Stone Haven and the front of One Mart has been known for constant flooding and water accumulation. Business owners operating in the Stone Haven location over the years have sustained much damage as a result of the flooding, specifically during the rainy season.
