Tuesday, October 27 – The RVIPF prepares to welcome the public to the newly refurbished station at its reopening on Friday, 30 October 2015.
The West End Police Station was closed to undergo extensive repairs which included a new roof as well as renovations to office spaces and police barracks. Repairs also included replacement of windows, installation of a new security and fire system, a new air conditioning system, electrical fixtures and interior finishes.
While repairs were undertaken, officers of the station were relocated to the Cane Garden Police Station and extended their patrols and service to the western end of the island.
Chief Inspector Dennis Jones in charge of the western and eastern police districts says he is eager to settle back into the station and re-establish relationships with the West End community partners.
“West End is one of the nicest communities to police. Most of those who live here have been here for years. They love this community and are protective of it. I and my officers are here to provide the support needed to keep this community safe and protected, he noted.
The public is invited to a brief ceremony to mark the occasion on Friday in front of the West End Police Station at 3pm.
