RVIPF Extradits Murder Suspect To BVI

Monday, November 23 – Today, officers of the RVIPF Major Crime Team escorted murder suspect, Andraes Nolford, 24, back to the BVI where he was officially charged for the death of Melbourne Francis.

After a lengthy extradition process, Police returned from St. Kitts this morning with the suspect in hand. He appeared in Magistrate’s Court this afternoon and was remanded.

Nolford, 24, who resided in Josiahs Bay when he lived in Tortola, had been living in St. Kitts for the past two years.

Acting Commissioner of Police Alwin James noted that bringing justice for victims in unsolved murders in the Territory is still high on the list of priorities.

“Many of these matters are painstakingly lengthy to investigate. However, the officers diligently sought the persons responsible for Melbourne Francis’ murder and were steadfast until they made their arrest. I highly commend their efforts,” he said.

Melbourne Francis was shot and fatally wounded near the Stickett in Long Look in May of 2013.
