Pedestrians Injured In Two Separate Accidents


Monday, October 26 – Officers of the Roads Policing Unit are continuing their investigations into the circumstances that resulted in injuries to three pedestrians in two separate vehicle collisions on Friday.

In the first collision around 8am, a 66-year-old male was crossing the west bound lane of the Blackburne Highway in the vicinity of Caribbean Printing when he was struck by a vehicle. He was subsequently taken to Peebles Hospital where he continues to receive treatment. His condition is considered serious but stable.

In the second collision around 3:30pm, an 18-year-old male was crossing Waterfront Drive near Vanterpool’s Pharmacy along with his five-year-old sister when they were both struck by a vehicle. The five-year-old was taken to Peebles Hospital, treated and released. Injuries to the 18-year-old were minor.

            Both drivers are cooperating with Police in their investigations.
