Patsy Lake, President of the BVI Horse Owners Association announced that she would like to see the Ellis Thomas Downs and its facilities improved.
The newly elected Association President during an appearance on JTV’s Sport Desk stated that efforts to solve some of the inconviencing problems at the track are being made: “We have invited the gentleman who built the present track– Ellis Thomas Downs to return and give us some ideas and costing for improvement,” Mrs. Lake announced.
Additionally the Association President noted that the organization would like to see a new gate and some other equipment that would continue to keep the surface of the track well maintained.
General improvement of the Ellis Thomas Downs was said to be the most urgent need of the Association, and it is something being aimed for by the organization. Making the track five furlong was also suggested.
