Things have been slow for the vendors of the Crafts Alive Village, but Minister for Communications and Works, Hon. Mark Vanterpool has asked for patience and announced that business will be increasing soon at that centre.
The revitalized Crafta Alive was opened in February 2013, but since then some vendors have suggested that sales have not been booming even during the tourist season when there are visiting ships. However, Minister Vanterpool during the 18 August edition of the NDP radio program on ZBVI Radio announced that things will get better.
The Minister said: “We spent about a million and a half to get the Crafts Alive up to speed providing about 60 or so spaces for the vendors, we are happy that they are situated there. They may not be making a lot of money yet, but they are poised to make some money there in the future when we get everything moving along hopefully very soon.”
Hon. Vanterpool explained that the completed cruise pier project will see ships visiting the Territory 52 weeks a year and this will reflect positively for the Territory’s tourism sector.
