Thursday, December 3 – In an operation last week, officers from the Virgin Gorda Police Station along with Special Investigations Team uncovered a large marijuana plantation on Virgin Gorda.
Seized on a property along the Tower Road were 1,132 marijuana plants ranging in size from seedlings to two feet along with over 1.4 kilos of cannabis. The plants, cannabis and farming tools found on the property were all confiscated.
No arrests have been made in this matter so far.
In October of this year, another three marijuana plantations were uncovered on Virgin Gorda on properties on the southern side of the island. A total of 54 seedlings were uprooted and an additional 77 dried plants were seized.
For the year so far, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force have uncovered 22 marijuana plantations with a total of 3746 plants uprooted.
