Minister for Communications and Works, Hon. Mark Vanterpool advised qualified contractors to bid on the various infrastructural development projects that are out to tender.
Hon. Vanterpool, who was speaking at a contract signing for two such projects on 15 October, announced that another contract for works at Harrigan Estate will soon be out to tender and noted that local contractors should bid.
“I encourage all qualifying contractors to bid for the execution of the prescribed works when they are advertised. This is a unique opportunity for you to take part in the rebuilding and continued development of our Virgin Islands,” the Minister stated.
The various contracts are part of Government’s efforts to complete remedial work for damages that were caused by Sub-Tropical Storm Otto in 2010. In order to facilitate the works the Government entered into a $15.67 million loan agreement with the Caribbean Development Bank CDB in 2012, to undertake a number of roads and bridges rehabilitation projects throughout the Territory.
