Bvi Is Grateful For Hurricane Free 2015

Legislators of the Territory are thankful that the BVI was spared another year from hurricanes. Premier, Dr. the Hon. D. Orlando Smith, Leader of the Opposition, Hon. Julian Fraser, and Hon. Marlon Penn Junior Minister for Trade and Investment and Representative for the Eighth District all expressed thanks for the hurricane free 2015 in their holiday message.

“We have so much to be thankful for as a community. We were again spared from major natural disasters this Hurricane Season. However, we were able to lend a helping hand, both financially and with technical support, to two of our Caribbean neighbors – Dominica and The Bahamas – in their rebuilding efforts,” Premier Smith announced.

Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition Hon. Fraser recalled that on 16 November  he attended a prayer of thanksgiving service by the BVI Christian Council marking the end of the 2015 hurricane season, at which thanks were given to God for sparing the Territory, yet another season, from a single hurricane hit.

“Our Territory has been fortunate in that regard, and such a service was very much in order,” Hon. Fraser added.
