MORE EUROPEANS MARRY IN THE BVI

NEWLYWED MR AND MRS ANDREAS SCHELLHAMMER
OF GERMANY AT LONG BAY HOTEL

Honeymoon in Paradise is the heading of a regular advertisement in German magazines and publications. The advertisement is designed to attract Europeans to come to the BVI to get married and spend their honeymoon in Paradise. Visiting couples marrying here is an old tradition that goes back to the early days of BVI tourism but in recent years our happy islands have become a big favorite with honeymooners. An ever increasing number of German, French, Italian, American, Argentine, Australian and Canadian couples have chosen the British Virgin Islands for their wedding and honeymoon; whether at the Church, formal at one of our fine hotels or barefoot in the sand, like the pirates - the variety offered is endless.

How to get married in the BVI? It is very simple: BVI-based Paradise Unlimited is geared to provide even the most unusual venues for weddings and is taking the bureaucratic work away from the happy couple to find their way through the paper work necessary prior to the wedding.

An often asked question is: Are these marriages valid in Europe? Yes! The BVI documents are transferred to the respective embassies for legalisation and are accepted back home without any problems. Where necessary they are translated and notarised locally.

We know of at least three marriages solemnised here who where crowned with a baby - made in the BVI, a spokesperson for Paradise Unlimited told The Island Sun newspaper.
