STOUTT CHARGED WITH THE MURDER OF CATO

26-year-old Deshawn Marcus Stoutt (pictured here) of East End has been arrested and charged with murder after he turned himself in on Tuesday morning.

According to Police reports, Stoutt was a suspect in the murder of 29-year-old Godwin Cato.  Investigations revealed that shots were fired close to 11:00 p.m. on Thursday 25 January at Fat Hog’s Bay in the vicinity of Johnny’s Bar.  Cato was found in the middle of the street and was immediately rushed to Peebles Hospital; however, he was pronounced dead at 12:25 a.m. on 26 January.

Stoutt, who served three months in prison after being charged with Carrying an Unlicensed Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, was released from prison in October 2006.  He was expected to appear at the Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, January 31st 2007, Dr. Francisco Landron, pathologist summoned from Puerto Rico, conducted post mortem on the body of 29-year-old Godwin Cato.  According to the report, the cause of death was a result of gunshot wound to the abdomen.
