ESCAPEE
CAPTURED AND SENTENCED
34-year-old Clifton Stoutt
(pictured here) is back in prison after being sentenced to an additional 12
months in jail, subsequent to being charged with Escaping Lawful Confinement.
As a result of a joint
operation, under the leadership of Sergeants Joseph Chapman and Roland Jackson,
Stoutt was recaptured on Friday, 8 December 2006.
According to Sgt. Joseph
Chapman, Stoutt, who was believed to have been armed and dangerous, was
consistently pursued as a part of the force’s intensified effort to have him
contained and recaptured without further threat or danger to the community.
Stoutt, who had escaped from Her
Majesty’s Prison at Balsam Ghut on 23 November, through holes that were cut in a
wire grill, was serving a 15 year sentence after being found guilty on three
counts of robbery by a nine-member jury.
