POLICE MOUNT INVESTIGATION INTO INTRUSION OF

CHIEF MINISTER’S RESIDENCE

 

Thursday, December 21 – Police have mounted an investigation into an intrusion of the Chief Minister’s residence at Mac Namara yesterday.

According to Ag. Deputy Commissioner of Police Jacob George, Chief Minister Honourable Dr. D. Orlando Smith arrived home at about 5:00 p.m. where he observed a dark small-framed man in the master bedroom. Police reports indicated that the man was described as being about 5 feet 8 inches tall and wearing a white sleeveless vest and a dark short pant.              

Investigations revealed that the intruder entered the residence through a closed but unlocked door and managed to escape through his point of entry by jumping over the porch and disappearing in the yard. A number of personal items were reported missing from the residence.

The Chief Minister was not physically hurt or assaulted in any way during the incident.
