Snail Mail bothers JVD Residents

The slow delivery of mail from the Road Town Post Office was brought up at the Jost Van Dyke community meeting 15 March. A resident said that he has been receiving his mail very late.

That resident explained that it takes one week to get one letter from Road Town to Jost Van Dyke. He told the legislators — "We have a problem with our mailing system — it is slow and it is way behind".

The concerned resident said that on many occasions he has been invited to meetings on Tortola and because he receives the invitations too late, sometimes on the same day, he has been unable to attend most of the meetings. .

Chief Minister Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith said that he recognized that the BVI has a little problem with the Post Office in Tortola, but he explained that the Government has people looking into the matter, and he promised that it will be rectified soon.
