STABBING INCIDENT AT NIGHT CLUB

Police are confirming that a stabbing incident did occur in the Long Bush area in the early hours of Sunday morning.

On Sunday, April 25, at 4:40 a.m., an anonymous caller reported that someone was seriously wounded at the Statix Nite Club.  According to the Police Information Office, Police arrived at the Statix’s parking lot, at Long Bush approximately 4:45 a.m., where the ambulance was met along with the EMT unit.  A male figure was met lying on his back with what appeared to be blood over his person.  He was immediately transported to Peebles hospital.

Police immediately mounted an investigation and learned that the male victim, 25-year-old Beko Lapsey was attacked.  Police subsequently visited Peebles Hospital and met Lapsey, a native of St. Kitts, who was being attended to by a doctor for multiple lacerations to his head, right ear, chin, lip and right hand.  All of the wounds received stitches; Lapsey is said to be in stable condition.

Police presently have a male in custody; however, Commissioner of Police, Barry W. Webb is appealing to members of the public, specifically to persons who were in attendance at the said night club at the time of the incident, to come forward and give information.  All calls will be held in the strictest of confidence.
