FORMER GOVERNOR OF THE BVI DIES

Mr. James Davidson OBE, who served as Governor of the British Virgin Islands from 1978 to 1981, died at the age of 82 on May 6.

He was a naval commander during the Second World War before joining the Commonwealth Relations Office.  Besides the BVI, he also held diplomatic positions in Cambodia, Brunei and Bangladesh.
