POLICE INVESTIGATE BOMB THREAT AT PEEBLES HOSPITAL
Police Commissioner Mr. Barry W. Webb said two persons were arrested,
interviewed and released in connection with a bomb threat at Peebles
Hospital last week.
Just after 9:30am, Friday January 9th, 2004, Royal Virgin Islands Police
Officers arrived at Peebles Hospital after a caller to the 911 Emergency
System threatened to blow-up the Hospital, according to a report from the
Ministry of Health.
Upon arrival at the hospital, officers alerted senior health officials and
secured the entry and exit points of the building. Patrols were also
increased in the area.
The evacuation of the building was not recommended.
At about 11:30am, police officers gave the all-clear for normal operations
to continue. Police continue to investigate the matter and identify the
source of the call.
