Phillips Leroy loops field at Sage Mountain

Phillippe Leroy won Sunday's grueling BVI Cycling Federation Sage Mountain Loop finishing 11 minutes ahead of national cycling champ Jaron Maduro. Some 11 cyclists showed up for the tough 15 mile course. Leroy led nine of the 11 cyclists who completed five laps in 1 hour 13 minutes and 52 seconds. Other finishers; 2. Jaron Maduro, 1:24.37. 3. Emanuel, 1:30.56. 4. Cliff Williams, 1:33.5. 5. Alston 'Alo' Hanley,

Marsh, 1:46..33. 9. Tom Merrigan, 1:47.01. (4 laps). 10. Joe Giacinto, 
1:56.14, (4 laps). Dnf; Andrew Young, who crashed and broke his handlebar.

BVI Spring Regatta 10 a.m. Friday to Sunday

Three days of serious racing in the 2003 BVI Spring Regatta, is set for 10 
a.m. Friday and continues through Sunday starting at 10 a.m. each day, in 
the Sir Francis Drakes Channel. Nightly entertainment activities are 
scheduled for Regatta Village at Nanny Cay.

BVI Cricket Association season opens on April 12

The 2003 BVI Cricket Association/Cable and Wireless league, opens on 
Saturday, April 12, with eight teams. Opening ceremonies are set for 11 
a.m. with a match between the President's XI and the Cable & Wireless XI 
starting at noon. Teams registered for the league includes; Cay Sports, 
Morgan & Morgan Rivals, Cavaliers, Liat Stars. Cafesito, Police and two 
Virgin Gorda teams.

Cable and Wireless Challenge set for April 13

The popular BVI Cycling Federation's Cable and Wireless Challenge, is set 
for 7 a.m. on Sunday, April 13, starting on Wichams Cay in the area of 
Scotia Bank. The race will take riders to West End on a 2-lap course, 
while a fun/novice 1-lap course will be offered.
