Spice United tame Old Boys 3-2

Spice United used a 3-2 victory to hand Old Boys their first loss in Virgin Gorda Football Club league play. Troy Williams scored in the 31st and 44th minute, while Wilbert Fuller scored in the 37th stanza. Old Boys Michael Frederick connected in the 29th minute. Dion ‘Ragga’ Clark added a second goal in the 66th minute. Valencia Stars beat the United Kickers 3-1. Otis Allen had goals in the 4th and 28th minute for Valencia. David Baptiste completed the scoring in the 39th minute. Kerwin Joseph had Kickers lone goal in the 29th minute. Kickers Roland Gibson was yellow carded in the first and second half and will sit out the next game. Valencia’s Michael Haynes picked up a second half yellow card.

BVI gearing up for Caribbean 7-A-Side tourney

The BVI will participate in the Caribbean 7-A-Side Football tournament in Trinidad and Tobago between October 31 and November 3. Comprising the team are: Ranilie Caines, Noel Isaac, David Baptiste, Avondale Williams, Rohan Lennon, Montgomery Butler, Fitzroy Thomas, Dwight Browne, Venton James and Gary Hall.
Elroy ‘Mandraker’ Mills and Kenrick Grant are the team officials. The BVI will compete against teams from over 20 countries, including St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Lucia and St. Kitts.
