Man arrested on four counts of theft
On 23 May police arrested Wesley I. Penn and charged him on a warrant in the first instance for the offence of aiding and abetting Ludwis Allen Wheatley on the offence of fraud and a breach of trust by a public official.
Penn was also charged with four counts of aiding and abetting exercising power in respect of a matter in which he has a private interest, four counts of theft and another count of aiding and abetting the offence of fraud and a breach of trust by a public official.
The same police source disclosed that as a result of investigations Allen Wheatley, 33, of Grove Hill, East End had also been arrested and charged on suspicion of committing the offence of theft.
Wheatley and Penn appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on 23 May on various charges of fraud and theft and were not required to plead. Bail was granted at $50,000, signed with one surety and $20,000 cash each to reappear in Court on 26 June.
