BVI HOST TO FILM SHOOTS FOR INT’L PROJECTS

The BVI was chosen as the location for a number of international film projects in the first two months of the year.
The latest company to capitalize on the beauty of these islands was Lane Bryant, a New York-based catalogue for plus sizes. They visited from February 5th-11th to shoot footage for their summer 2002 catalogue. Lane Bryant featured locations in Virgin Gorda and surrounding islands, specifically on the water’s edge and on yachts.

At the beginning of January, Lord & Taylor, a division of May Department Stores Company, also based in New York, did a still photography shoot on Virgin Gorda. The photographs, shot between January 5th and 13th, will be used in Lord & Taylor's direct mail catalogue “Dress Book 2002”.
From January 7th to 18th, Flying Tiger Films, a commercial production company out of Los Angeles, shot footage here for three commercials for Gillette featuring their various lines of women’s shaving products. They were on location at Beef Island beach and Sandy Cay.

The Baths National Park on Virgin Gorda was the venue for another shoot from January 8th-12th, 2002. This photo shoot by Atlanta-based department store chain Rich’s/Lazarus/Goldsmith’s is for the Spring Notes Book 2002.
American clothing company J. Crew, which specializes in classic and casual sportswear, filmed footage for their summer 2002 catalogue in the BVI from January 15th-19th. The shoot involved various locations including a sailboat, around Road Town and a private villa.

And a number of locations throughout the British Virgin Islands might again be featured on the Travel Channel shortly. A crew from the network visited from January 21st-29th to shoot on Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke and Necker Island. They got specific shots of Road Town, Cane Garden Bay, Bitter End, Willy T and Billy Bones, Foxy’s, the Ivan Chinnery campground and Bomba’s full-moon party.
