BVI Red Cross Fair - an overwhelming success!

Blue Sky, new Shoes, fancy Clothing, precious Jewelry, Toys, Furniture, Household items, good food and many happy customers were the scenery last Saturday at the Head Quarters of the BVI Red Cross, where one of the largest ever Red Cross Fairs was held. The 14 Stalls gave more the impression of a Department Store close-out sale, rather than a flea market with all the goodies the community of the BVI had send to the Red Cross in response to the appeal. The VAD's - the Youth Section of the Red Cross - were well represented and heavily involved during the day in running the Lucky Dip and assisting Dr. Jana Downing in Blood and Bloodsugar testing. A lovely surprise was in store for the Red Cross members, when a "customer", who had been walking around, enjoying the food and local drinks revealed her identity as being Natalie Fough, the Director of the St. Kitts Red Cross. Mrs. Fough came to the BVI to attend her cousin's wedding the same afternoon and was only too happy to support the local chapter. The BVI Red Cross wishes to thank all Companies, Hotel, Supermarkets, Restaurants and Individuals for their generous support. A special thanks goes out to Cape Air for donating the Grand Prize to the raffle: Two Round Trip Tickets to San Juan From left Girlette Fahie, Thor Downing, Natalie Fough, Ginnie Morrell, Dr. Jana Downing and a young, very healthy patient.
