Nadia Harrigan to represent BVI at Miss World Pageant Miss World BVI 2000 Nadia Harrigan will represent the British Virgin Islands at an international pageant at the end of November. She will be taking part in the Miss World International to be held in London November 30th. Nadia won the local competition, which was held June 26th, from a field of three other contestants. She won a cash prize, a wardrobe, a Black Opal basket from Bolo's, a gift basket from Lady Sarah's, a cellular phone from CCT Boatphone, one year's free pass to Bobby's Cinemax, a bag of CD's from Colombian Records and several other prizes. Miss World BVI will be leaving shortly for New Jersey, USA, which is a part of her prize from the Ms World BVI Committee. There, she will be picking up her wardrobe for the pageant and doing several interviews for television and magazines. Nadia, who is a professional model, having graduated in 1999 from D'Rose International Modelling School in Puerto Rico, will compete against contestants from 90 other countries throughout the world in the London pageant. The usual categories are talent, evening gown, swimsuit and question and answer. Here in the BVI, a new committee has been formed, headed by Mrs. Patsy Lake of One Stop Mall, to assist Nadia to attend the Miss World pageant. "We are also in the process of arranging a charter flight for persons who are interested in attending the competition in London," Mrs. Lake told The Island Sun.
