Government Prepares To Launch Help Desk The general public will soon find it much easier to obtain services from government departments with the establishment of a Help Desk later this month. This project is one of the tangibles resulting from the ongoing Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP). "BVI residents and visitors alike, in need of various public services, often find difficulty in accessing these," PSDP Coordinator Mrs. Lorna Smith noted. "In some instances, they are uncertain of the location of departments, in other instances, they are uncertain about which officer they should see or even how to set appointments. Some members of the public at times are unable to complete certain application forms." The objectives of establishing the Help Desk are to provide comprehensive information about government services to the public, render assistance as much as possible and to serve as a point of referral to various ministries and departments. A qualified Administrative Officer will manage the facility, which will be officially opened for service from 8:15am to 5pm from 23rd October 2000. The Help Desk will be located on the western side of the Central Administration Building on the ground floor. For further information, please contact the Coordinator of the Public Sector Development Programme, Mrs. Lorna Smith at 494-3701 ext. 2018. |
